All Schools Day was started in 1914 as a way to celebrate the graduation of McPherson County eighth graders.
Education has always been an important event in McPherson County, and a special day was set aside annually that now honors graduates from eighth grade, high school and college.
All Schools Day highlights include a week-long carnival, two nights of May Fete (Wednesday and Thursday), the Parade which begins at 10:30 a.m. on Friday morning, the Madathon on Friday afternoon, and many other activities for kids of all ages.
As an all-volunteer organization with no paid staff, it is only through the generous contribution of time, energy and financial resources of thousands of volunteers over the years that All Schools Day will celebrate its 104th anniversary in 2017.
