High Voltage Safety Demonstrations

The Board of Public Utilities (BPU) is hosting live High Voltage Safety Demonstrations following the All Schools Day Parade. This free public event provides an exciting and educational opportunity for families and community members to learn about electrical safety.

During these demonstrations, trained professionals will showcase real-world scenarios involving high-voltage power lines and explain how to respond safely in dangerous situations.

Location: Community Building, 122 E. Marlin St., McPherson

Demonstration Times:

Demo #1 – 2:00 PM

Demo #2 – 2:30 PM

Attendees will learn about:

Electrical safety awareness

What to do around downed power lines

Vehicle contact with power lines

How to stay safe in emergency situations

These demonstrations are designed to be safe, educational, and family-friendly, helping community members understand how to respond to electrical hazards and potentially save lives.

This event is free and open to the public.
